Tantalizing Trails of Tapas: The Las Lagunas Taste Tour

Roll out the red carpet for your taste buds, food fanatics! With an encore that's set to tantalize, “Las Lagunas Tapas Trek II” is waltzing back into town this autumn, ready to serve a symphony of flavours, courtesy of Mijas Town Hall’s Tourism Department and the Mijas Federation of Associations, our culinary conductors for this grand gastronomic gala.

Picture this: A delightful dalliance through the culinary canvas of Las Lagunas, featuring 10 spotlight-stealing bars and restaurants, and a bakery that's worth its (cake) weight in gold. Starting October 14th and running through to the frosty cusp of December 2nd, every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, these taste-trailblazers are flinging open their doors from 1pm to 3:30pm, then dimming the lights for a dinner encore from 7:30pm to 11:30pm.

“This isn’t just a route; it's a flavourful adventure, where every tapa tells a tale, and each bite beckons a return journey”, chimes in the Tourism Maestro, José Carlos Martín, with a glint in his eye that mirrors the excitement brewing for this autumn affair. “Expect to fall in love with the local lingo of Las Lagunas' legendary gastronomy, and prepare to be wooed over and over, because our local establishments aren't just serving meals; they’re dishing out experiences of supreme quality!”

Rosario Cortés, the president of Mijas Federation of Associations, with a twinkle of wisdom and white wine, assures that this event is also a discovery compass, guiding residents to unseen nooks and crannies of culinary delight in Las Lagunas, places they might have previously scrolled past on their routine maps.

Ease into the comfort of convenient transit, provided especially for this escapade every savory Saturday, morning and afternoon alike. José promises stops at seven strategic points, ensuring you’re not just saving on parking money but also treating your vehicle to a day off while you feast.

And feast you shall - at the very friendly price tag of €3 for a tapa paired with a drink. For those with a sweet tooth navigating to the bakery, a slice of heaven - erm, cake - awaits your arrival. Participants will also be handed a Tapas Passport; a ticket to flavor town where each stamp from the participating establishments brings you closer to completing your delicious voyage. Submit these filled flavor diaries at the library of Teatro Las Lagunas and receive not just a token of tasty appreciation but also a raffle entry!

Ana Rodríguez from Las Torres Bakery and Zunilda Godoy from El Abuelo are already seasoned veterans from last year’s taste odyssey, bearing testament to the event’s allure not just for the patrons but also for the establishments themselves. New kids on the chopping block, like Las Tablinas and La Palma, are also strapping in for their debut, eager and excited for the exposure and the opportunity to showcase their culinary crafts.

So, mark your calendars, loosen your belts, and prep your palates for a tasteful journey through Las Lagunas’ delicious bylanes where every tapa is a stop worth making!
