2023 Real Estate Investment Guide for Spain

Investing in real estate in Spain is a secure option, especially during these uncertain times. Unexpected events such as the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine have affected the global market, making Spain a reliable choice for investment. Despite the challenging circumstances, Spain's property market has thrived, with 2023 projected to be just as promising as 2022.

Spain is considered one of the most appealing real estate investment locations globally, ranking fourth in capital growth behind the United States, Brazil, and China, according to AFIRE, an organization that focuses on international real estate investments. One Marbella Group reported that Spain ranked fifth in the region of Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) in late 2022, following Great Britain, Germany, and France.

The Spanish real estate market has been thriving, with significant sales growth observed in all regions that foreign investors are interested in. While the lockdown caused by Covid had a short-term impact, there has been a significant rebound since March 2021. Double-digit sales growth was recorded in all regions except Murcia, with the Canary and Balearic Islands leading with 45% and 21% growth, respectively. Andalusia and the Valencia region, two of the most popular destinations, experienced a 23% and 21% sales increase, respectively.
