State train operating company Renfe, has announced the launch of its low-cost AVE high-speed service.
Renfe, the state train operating company, has announced the launch of its low-cost AVE high-speed service, Avlo, which will provide affordable travel options for passengers between Malaga and Madrid. The new service will make stops at all intermediate stations, including Antequera Santa Ana, Puente Genil, Córdoba, Villanueva de Córdoba, Puertollano, and Ciudad Real.
Tickets for the new service will go on sale starting from
tomorrow, 12 April, with an introductory offer of as low as seven euros for a
one-way trip. The offer includes 17,000 tickets and will be available for purchase
until they are sold out. The service is scheduled to begin on 1 June, with
daily round-trip trains between Malaga-Madrid and Seville-Madrid, offering a
total of 1,744 seats each day.
Each Avlo train will have 436 seats, including two
designated spaces for individuals with reduced mobility. The units are based on
the S-112, from which the cafeteria has been removed to gain extra space for
passengers. All tickets are offered for sale in a single class, called Basic.
The base price includes a free cabin suitcase and a handbag, and customers can
purchase additional services such as seat selection, changes or cancellations,
and additional luggage at an extra cost.
Children under 14 years of age will be charged a set rate of
5 euros, and this ticket must always be accompanied by the purchase of an adult
ticket, with a maximum of two child tickets per adult. Large families will also
be able to obtain discounts of up to 50%.
Tickets can be purchased through the Avlorenfe or Renfe
websites, and each ticket is issued in the name of the traveler. Renfe may
request identification from customers by means of a valid official document
with a photograph.
Renfe's Avlo service aims to provide affordable travel
options to all stations along the route, both the origin and destination as
well as intermediate ones. With competitive travel times and affordable prices,
Renfe hopes to facilitate and increase mobility for passengers between Malaga
and Madrid.
